What is appsolut ONE?
appsolut ONE is an enterprise community server: one platform for the internal and external communities of an organisation, such as employees, retirees, members and partners. In the Studio, its admin app, you define who your members are and which portals and apps they may use. The Community Portal is the website for your community, and Login with appsolut signs your members in to all of your frontends.
Do our employees need a company email address or a corporate directory account?
No. appsolut ONE checks membership against your registers, for example SAP HR, using the member code and personal details. Anyone in a register can sign up with an email address of their choice and confirms their membership once. That includes staff without a company account and retirees.
Where does our register data stay?
An internal register is held in the Studio, maintained by upload or by hand. An external register stays in your own system: the Studio asks it live through the appsolut register API at every membership check. The Studio keeps the organisation memberships of the people who signed up, not a copy of your register, and its check log never stores the personal details that were submitted.
How does appsolut ONE decide who is a member?
With the membership definition: an ordered list of your registers, each with filters, such as status "Active", and an outcome, "Qualifies" or "Refuses". The registers are asked from top to bottom, and the first one that decides wins. Communities then narrow your members down for each portal or app, for example to active employees or retirees.
What is Login with appsolut?
The one sign-in your members use for all of your organisation's frontends. Its sign-in screens carry your organisation's name, colour, logo and legal links. The first sign-in also onboards the person as a member, and every later sign-in checks the membership again.
What is the Community Portal?
The website for your community, maintained by your Portal editors: pages and news, member benefits and vouchers, travel offers at member prices and enquiries. Content can be shown to members only. Which features a Community Portal has depends on its licences.
Can we connect our own websites and apps?
Yes. Every website or app you connect is a frontend in the Studio, with the community that may use it. Members sign in to it with Login with appsolut, and its backend can ask the Members API about a membership with a frontend key. The developer documentation describes both.
What happens when someone retires or leaves?
At every sign-in, appsolut ONE checks the membership again. Someone who moved from SAP HR to your retirees register lands in the retirees community. Someone no register qualifies any more is no longer a member from their next sign-in, and frontends for members no longer let them in.
Where is appsolut ONE hosted?
The servers and databases of the Studio and of the Community Portals run in data centres in Frankfurt, Germany. Not every file uploaded to a Community Portal is stored in the EU yet.
How does appsolut ONE handle personal data?
Sparingly. The check log records the outcome of every membership check, never the personal details that were submitted. A Studio user can export a frontend user's data for an access request.
How do we get started?
Request a demo through the contact form. We will walk you through the Studio and plan your first register and frontend with you.
